
Cremorne Synagogue is honoured to host Colonel Michael Scott CSC at our Mevarachim Lunch on Saturday, 14 March.
Shortly after the service, Michael will speak about his newly released book, A Light Still Burns: Israel and the Values Worth Defending, sharing insights from his experiences and reflecting on his journey since 2023.
Following the talk, those who have registered are invited to remain for lunch.

For those purchasing — or anyone wishing to bring their own copy — books can be dropped off before Shabbat with a Post-it note inside including your name. Michael has kindly agreed to sign copies.
About Michael
- Served 30+ years in the Australian Army, retiring with the rank of Colonel.
- Operational deployments to East Timor, Bougainville, Iraq, and two tours of Afghanistan.
- Served in Jerusalem with the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation, working across Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Egypt.
- Since October 7, founded The 2023 Foundation, a grassroots international initiative combating antisemitism through lived experience, education, and cultural exchange.
- Holds multiple degrees, including an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and NYU Stern School of Business.
- Though not Jewish, he is an Honorary Life Member of Emanuel Synagogue in recognition of his steadfast support of the Jewish community.
