Rabbi’s Weekly Message

Thursday 1st May, 2014

by Rabbi Yossi Friedman

I wish a hearty Mazal Tov to Ellie and Bessie Stein and their family on celebrating Ellie’s 90th birthday! We look forward to a wonderful and joyous Shabbat service.

This past week, Chana and I met Paula Abdul at an event put on by another Shul (Nefesh). She spoke during the evening about her personal story and left us with the uplifting message that we must pursue our dreams and not let anything get in our way.
It made me think about a postcard. Have you ever written one? Well, normally we start off writing in large letters but as we make our way down the bottom, we must decrease the letter size to squeeze everything in the box. Sometimes, we must even go around the edges. And such is life. In our youth, we think we have so much time. But as we grow older, we start to realise that we must cram more and more in before our time is up. So how do we live full and meaningful lives?
I look forward to sharing a beautiful message with you over shabbat.
Shabbat Shalom,

Rabbi Yossi and Chana Friedman
